about
inspired by the rocky mountains

rmbs
My journey began in 2009 when i attended my first meeting of the Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society in Denver. That night i met a man named Jerry Morris. Little did i know that life would never be the same. I had found a home at RMBS and Jerry was my guide.
A decade later, in 2019, at RMBS’s 50th anniversary show, i was awarded Artist of the Year. It was an honor to be recognized by my peers, especially at this anniversary event, and I’m grateful for all of the friends I’ve made thru RMBS.

wild trees
After that first RMBS meeting, and for the next 6 years, i spend as much time as could with Jerry, exploring the Rockies and searching for wild trees to use for bonsai.
Jerry was an inspiration due to his love of the mountains, his passion for trees and his relentless curiosity about the natural world. It was infectious, to me and to everyone that met him.

technique
Since 2016 i have been a Mirai student, dedicated to taking my bonsai knowledge to the next level. Through rigorous training with Colorado native Ryan Neil at his facility, Int’l Bonsai Mirai. I have been able develop the skills to create world class bonsai, and an eye to evaluate them.
In am excited for the future, as things develop & new opportunities present themselves with RMBS and the Mirai community.
While i continue my studies at Mirai, I am very happy to pivot back to RMBS and offer intermediate & advance level learning opportunities.
